Ragnar Relay

The Ragnar Relay is not your typical race, but it is a fun event for all who participate, and the courses are known for the being the most spectacular sites in The US. The Ragnar Relay that is held usually in October is a 200 mile race. That’s right it’s 200 hundred miles, but don’t worry you’ll have eleven other team members helping you in this race. Each team member will run three legs per day, each leg consisting of anywhere between 3-8 miles, and varying in difficulty.

The race usually takes two days to finish.
The way it works is there are two vans and twelve team members per team, or 6 for those really elite teams. In the first van you have runners one through 6, and the second van you have runners 7-12. The vans go ahead of the runner, and once the first runner is finished, the next runner gets out and the van continues on.

This year on October 21st and 22nd in Las Vegas, The Ragnar Relay will go from Valley of Fire state park, and you’ll run past Lake Mead, Mt. Charleston, Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, and you’ll end up at the Red Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
For those who finish, there are great medals, and stickers for you team. There are also awards for all division winners. There are also awards for best decorated vehicles, and best team name. Tech tees are given to all who participate, and when you finish there’s a great party held at the finish line.

Registration for the race is $10 per runner after September 15th, and then $20 per runner after October 1st and each team must provide 3 volunteers to help with the race. Come out and have fun, everyone always does.
